We will do our best to make this year's Festival a pleasurable and profitable one. Although there are no guarantees with regard to the weather, we anticipate a pleasant Spring day, with a daytime high between 63 and 78 degrees. Since the Lilac Festival is an open, outdoor Festival, there will be NO REFUNDS in the event of inclement weather. Also, there will be no refunds given under ANY circumstances, and BOOTH SHARING IS NOT ALLOWED.
Though all our applications are judged for quality and craftsmanship, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so please process your application at your earliest opportunity. We give additional priority to those vendors who have been with us before.
If you have any suggestions or comments on how to make our Festival even better in any way, please let us know. Also, we're always interested in quality arts and crafts vendors. If you know of anyone- besides yourself, of course- hook us up! The person to contact for the Arts & Crafts vendors is Lia Sluyter, and she can be reached at 661-242-6960. For a quicker response, email glassartbylia@juno.com.
To talk to the big cheese himself, that is, the man-in-charge of the Festival in general, contact Mark Bailey at 661-242-8810. Email is hehitme@frazmtn.com.
One last item, and we regret having to bring it up, but….. unfortunately, a few years ago, we had a few problems with a handful of vendors who sold items to young kids and teens that eneded up being a problem; items like Silly String, water pistols, caps, etc. ( You've probably had to deal with this kind of nonsense yourself on occasion at other shows, so you know what we're talking about.)
Well, now we have to play bad cop and get strict and make the following ultimatum: "Any vendor that sells Silly String or any Silly String-like substance, or who sells water pistols or other such devices, caps that explode when thrown to the ground, or any other item that creates a mess, or that constitutes a disturbance or nuisance, will be fined a $150.00 fee and may be asked to leave the premises immediately."
Happily, since we started including our little threat with the application, there have been no problems. We're sorry to have to even bring it up, but we appreciate your understanding and compliance. Please sign and date on the line below to signify that you have read and agree to adhere to the above stated restrictions, and include this application with a check made out to Pine Mountain Lilac Festival.

(I have read, understand and will adhere to the above-stated restrictions.)
NOTE: Please be sure to get gasoline prior to reaching Pine Mt. Club. There is NO fuel available this year. Also, food vendors will need to bring gas for their generators.
24th Annual Lilac Festival
Pine Mountain Club, California
Dear Lilac Festival Aplicant:
The Pine Mountain Club Commercial Property Owners Association is proud to announce the 24th Annual Lilac Festival in the Pine Mountain Village Center on May 20th and 21st, 2006. We invite you to be a part of our festival.
WHAT IS THE LILAC FESTIVAL?
The Lilac Festival is a traditional, juried arts and crafts faire. We look for artisans whose work is truly handmade and whose talent reflects quality craftsmanship and a unique style and vision, whether their forte is fine art or yard art, photography, sketches or oil paintings, children's toys, stained glass or hand-blown glass, ceramics, pottery, sculptures, furniture, jewelry, wood products, picture frames, candles, clothing, floral arrangements, quilts, chimes, and objects d'art. The Lilac Festival is an Arts and Crafts Faire, not a bazaar or a swap meet, and we do not allow factory resale items to be sold, though vendors do not have to make all items themselves.
On Saturday, the Lilac Festival will offer helicopter rides, a parade, contests, a strolling magician, a Maypole Dance, as well as golf, tennis and horseshoe tournaments. On both Saturday and Sunday, we will have live entertainment and goings-on at the Gazebo, live music, food booths, arts and crafts booths, kids' booths, full-service restaurants and helicopter rides.
The arts and crafts hours are 9 AM to 5PM Saturday, and 10 AM to 4 PM Sunday, though you may open earlier and stay open later if you so desire. Booth space rates are noted in the application. The rates cover both days and there are no commissions or security deposits to worry about, just a flat rate. Please fill out your application and mail it back with a check made out to the "Pine Mountain Club Lilac Festival."
Arts and crafts booth space locations will be posted at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 19lh. Vendors may begin setting up at 5PM. PLEASE DO NOT SET UP BEFORE 5PM. PLEASE. Food vendors may begin setting up anytime on Friday. (They're located in a different part of the Village Center, adjacent to the arts and crafts.) On Saturday and Sunday mornings,by 9 AM, ALL vehicles must be removed from the arts & crafts booth area and legally parked in one of the nearby parking areas.
Last year's attendance was estimated to be between 8,000 and 12,000 over the course of the weekend, (among our largest turnouts ever,) and we anticipate a larger turnout this year, assuming the weather cooperates. (We've increased our advertising and promotional budget significantly over the last few years and are spending even more this year.)
WHERE THE HECK IS PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB? We are located 18 miles west of the Interstate 5- Frazier Park / Mt.Pinos exit, which is itself two miles north of Gorman. This section of the 1-5 that runs through the mountains between Los Angeles and Bakersfield is commonly referred to as "The Grapevine." We are part of the Los Padres National Forest.
We are approximately 90 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles and 65 minutes south of Bakersfield. (Or 50 minutes north of Six Flags Magic Mountain.) In other words, not that far and closer than you think.

For lodging, you have your choice of campgrounds, motels, hotels and cabins. Contact the Pine Mountain Club Clubhouse for campsites at the Pine Mountain Club Campground at 661-242-3788. SECURITY
Pine Mountain Club Public Safety will patrol throughout the night around the festival area. We will also have additional private security walking throughout the area. Vandalism and theft is a rarity in Pine Mountain Club, but it has happened on a couple of occasions over the course of two decades, so use good judgment in protecting your merchandise. Neither Pine Mountain Club nor the Commercial Property Owners Association will be held responsible for any theft or vandalism to your property.
IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB...
...you're in for a pleasant surprise. Located at about 5,000 feet, the Pine Mountain Village Center is the business center of Pine Mountain Club. It is truly beautiful here, with crisp, clear blue skies, fresh, pine-scented air and wonderful vistas everywhere you turn. It's idyllic - a slice of paradise, really;- a modern day Garden of Eden. In fact, according to the religion of the Chumash Indians, (the original inhabitants of this area,) the mountain range that includes Mt. Pinos, Mt. Abel and Frazier Mountain is the center of the universe. So when was the last time you did a festival next to the center of the universe?
We thank you for your interest in being an exhibitor and look forward to seeing you at the Lilac Festival. For additional information, contact Lia Sluyter at 661-242-6960, or email her at: glassartbylia@juno.com.
