Healthy Families/Medi-Cal Insurance

Let’s work together on making sure all children have health insurance. Healthy Families is low cost insurance that provides health, dental and vision coverage for children, ages 0-18 yrs. old, who do not qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal or without employer-sponsored insurance through a parent. Applications for Healthy Families/Medi-Cal can be picked up at the Family Resource Center. The FRC has 2 Family Liaisons available to assist filling out the applications. Call 245-4303 to set up an appointment

VSP—Sight for Students

Sight for Students is a wonderful program founded by Vision Service Plan (VSP). The program provides vision exams and glasses to uninsured children across the country. Children are eligible for assistance only once every 12 months.  Speak with Sharon Powell, School Nurse, if you think your child is in need of a vision exam, or call the Family Resource Center to get more details at 245-4303.  

Toys for Tots and Gifts for Teens

It’s that time of year again. Keep your eyes out for the Toys for Tots and gifts for teens boxes that will be distributed by the cub scouts pack #27 . The toys will be distributed to children that live here on the hill. If you know children who could benefit from this program please contact us. Also, we are in need of volunteers to help sort toys before the distribution, call the Family Resource Center at 245-4303 for details.  

Special points of interest:

· Christmas is Coming  Looking for volunteers for Toys 4 Tots. Call 245-4303 to help out.

· Food Drive Drop off any non-perishable foods at the FRC for distribution for local families.

· VSP Sight For Students-Vouchers available through the Family Resource Center.
