Thrift Store
The Shelter on the Hill Thrift Store is located at 3536 Mt. Pinos Way next to the Pharmacy. Normal hours are 10-4 Tuesday through Saturday, weather and staff permitting. The store phone number is 245-1436.

The Thrift Store is our greatest source of income. The two things we need most for the Thrift Store are donations of saleable items and volunteers. If you have items that you wish to donate, please call the store or drop by when it is open. Please do not leave items at the front or back doors. This is a violation of county ordinance and could cause us to be fined. If you would like to volunteer to work at the store, please call and speak with the store manager. Even if you can only work a couple of hours one day a week, we would love to have you help us help build our shelter.

SOTH THRIFT STORE GETS BIGGER! Thrift Store Workers
Last spring the Thrift Store embarked on an ambitious remodeling effort. When the additional space of the adjacent unit became vacant last May, the landlord approved the removal of a large portion of the wall between the two stores, adding a third again as much floor space to the existing sales area.

Five years ago when the store first opened under the guidance of volunteer Sally Erikson, it was in this smaller unit and generous donations quickly filled it to capacity. Eighteen months later Sally jumped at the opportunity to move the operation to the larger unit next door. "And now, after two more years and again overflowing with merchandise," said volunteer Judy Cadman, "we tore down the wall between the two and can offer even more to our customers."

Store merchandise includes household items such as dishes, glassware, small tables and appliances, linens, jewelry, and collectibles. The store also carries gently used, and some new, men's, women's, and children's clothing in addition to books, toys, CDs and odds and ends. Many thanks to the volunteer store clerks who continue to commit their time and energy to keeping the doors open and to the many supporters in the community who have generously donated a wide variety of goods for the store to sell.
